COTA-EI Reference List
From the start of the EI castle program in 2021, we have completely revised the list of castles. The original list contained a lot of objects that do not exist anymore. It also contained multiple references to the same object.
The currently valid list of objects (and reference numbers) can be found here. The castle list comprises over 1500 castles and areas in Ireland.
This main directory for EI contains castles and houses of medieval only. We are considering adding subcategories of other objects like fortresses for separate awards (watch this space..).
Based on the latest list of references you can find a convenient map of the castles on Google Maps. Please note this map is still being worked on
